Erases what?

Poor grammar and punctuation leads me to wonder if I am using the correct tool.

I want to erase erroneous pencil marks. This Pink Eraser erases clean. What does that mean? Does it leave a mess behind once it erases the clean?

I prefer erasers that erase cleanly and clearly.

Reminds of the book Eats, shoots and leaves. Plus, it doesn't even smell like an eraser. *pbzt* :D
